Thursday, July 31, 2025, the SJRRC will co-host a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the East Channel Street Streetscape and Connectivity Project.

The event will take place outside the Robert J. Cabral Station (949 East Channel Street, Stockton, CA 95202) from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

This project represents a major step toward creating a more connected, walkable, and sustainable Downtown Stockton. The event will feature a speaking program from 11:00 AM to 11:40 AM followed by the ceremonial groundbreaking. Lunch will be served around 11:50 AM.

We are expecting a large turnout of elected officials, community partners, and other stakeholders. To help accommodate our guests, we kindly ask staff to use the passenger parking lots, the annex lot and nearby street parking, leaving the main and overflow lots available for attendees and board members. Agency vehicles will be parked in the overflow lot on Channel Street.

Please note that the street directly in front of Cabral Station will be closed for most of the day to support event operations. Additionally, all buses will be rerouted, with passenger pickup relocated to the front of the passenger lot on Weber Street.
